A Houston woman was injured Monday afternoon when her vehicle left a roadway and struck a tree.
Tpr. S.J. Crewse of the Missouri State Highway Patrol said an eastbound 2003 Dodge Caravan driven by Marissa A. Gilbert, 25, accelerated rapidly on Forrest Drive, causing it to travel off the right side and strike the tree.
Gilbert was taken by ambulance with minor injuries to Texas County Memorial Hospital. An air ambulance had been called earlier and a landing zone established at Houston Memorial Airport before it was cancelled.
Crewse said Gilbert was not wearing a seat belt.
