An intoxicated Licking man was seriously injured Friday night when his vehicle left the roadway and overturned north of his hometown.
Tpr. Terry Nelson of the Missouri State Highway Patrol said an eastbound 1994 GMC Sierra ran off Highway CC about 10 miles north of Licking, overturned and threw the driver, Joshua R. Marr, 25.
Marr was taken by ambulance to Texas County Memorial Hospital following the 9:20 p.m. accident. The Licking Fire Department was called to offer traffic control assistance. Marr was arrested on charges of DWI and failing to drive on the right half of the roadway and was released for medical treatment, Nelson said.
The vehicle was totaled, and Marr was not wearing a seat belt, said Nelson, who was assisted at the scene by Sgt. George Falterman.
