Loura Ann (Branstetter) Ford was born Aug. 16, 1936, in Mountain Grove, Mo., to Preston and Tassie (Ballard) Branstetter. She was married to Kendall Ford on Aug. 6, 1961, and they had their beautiful daughter, Jill (Ford) Sisk, on October 18, 1967.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Preston and Tassie Branstetter; two unborn children; two sisters, Virginia and Frankie; three brothers, Arby, Preston Jr. and Billy Joe.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Kendall Ford; her daughter, Jill Sisk and husband, Roby; her grandson, Tyler Bailey; granddaughter, Elayna Sisk; one sister, Rutha Altis; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Loura Ford loved children, having been a school teacher for 35 years. She was loved and admired by her students and co-workers alike. Besides her family, her other great love was our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. All who knew Loura knew her love of Jesus and her great and faithful witness for the Lord.
Loura had and infectious laugh and bold spirit that emanated in her loving heart. She departed this life at 4:20 p.m. Jan. 9, 2015, surrounded by her family and friends at her side.
Services were 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2015, at Ozark Baptist Church with the Rev. Gordon Rhodes and Pastor Todd Haley officiating. Pallbearers were Curtis Hubbs, Ryan Kell, Roger Tune, Mike Daniels, Ryan Harper, Roger Maxwell and Bob Rasmussen. Burial was in Providence Cemetery, Cabool, Mo., under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
