Warriene “Renie” Louise (Skouby) Elliott, 54, daughter of Bill and Mary Louise (Tate) Skouby, was born in Long Beach, Calif., on Feb. 20, 1960. She passed away Dec. 26, 2014, at her home in Houston, M0.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Mary Louise.
She is survived by her daughter, Rheanan Lemaster and her husband, Scott, of Cynthiana, Ky.; one grandson, Nigel Amick of Cynthiana, Ky.; one brother, Reginald Skouby of Houston, Mo.; and one sister, Pamella (Skouby) Hill of Collinsville, Okla.
After living in California and Michigan, Renie and her family returned to Houston, Mo., when she was 10. She graduated from Houston High School in 1978. She was in band and played the saxophone. She made many lifelong friends while in high school.
She worked at the H.D. Lee Company for 10 years. Renie always had a love of learning and helping others. She attended college, receiving her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Tennessee State University and her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Missouri State University. She worked as a Child Abuse Investigator and Family Service Case Manager.
She had a love of many things, including collecting antiques, and she was a very talented interior decorator. Recently she has had a great love of God and studying the Bible.
Renie was a devoted Mother, Grandmother, sister and friend. She had a great sense of humor and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Memorial services were 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, 2015 at Evans Funeral Home with the Rev. Ed Hamilton officiating. Cremation was under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
