A Houston man is the latest to file for a seat on the Houston board of education.
V. Leon Slape completed candidacy paperwork on Friday.
Also filing are Stacie Ely, incumbent Tadd McCloud, M. Kevin Reed and Dustin Smith.
The other incumbent is Jim Root.
The seats are for three-year terms.
The filing deadline is 5 p.m. Tuesday.
