Lenard “Bud” Hurshel Brim, 82, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2015, in Houston.
He was born Nov. 5, 1932, in Cedar Grove, son of Omer and Orpha Hubbs Brim. He and Shirley Bullock were married Dec. 21, 1957.
He grew up in the Cedar Grove community.
He worked in the timber all of his life. He was an outdoorsman. He relished going hunting, trapping and fishing. He always put out a big garden and shared the produce with family and friends.
He was of the Baptist faith. He listened to Gospel music and especially liked Roy Acuff.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one infant sister and one son, David.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Shirley of Raymondville; two sons, Doug Brim of Raymondville and Darrell Brim of Houston; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dorthene Merckling of Raymondville and Wanda Brim of Lebanon; and many other family members and friends.
Services were Thursday, Feb. 5, at Evans Funeral Home with Pastor David Barbee officiating. Burial was in Friendship Cemetery.
