Daniel Doyle Cook, 77, passed away Saturday, Jan. 31, 2015, at his son’s home in Springfield.
He was born May 18, 1937, in Skellytown, Texas, son of Vester and Opal Mae Robertson Cook. He and Charlene Kennell were married Aug. 24, 1956, in Booker, Texas.
He attended school in Skellytown and White Deer, Texas. He worked in the oil fields for many years and moved to Missouri in 1976 with his wife, Charlene.
He was saved at an early age, attending church as he could.
He loved to fly planes as well as model airplanes, hunting, fishing, gardening, cutting wood with his boys and watching the Dallas Cowboys. His greatest love was being with his family, especially holidays and Sunday afternoon dinners.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Beverly Ann Cook.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Charlene of the home in Bucyrus; four children, Dwayne Cook, Sr. of Perryton, Texas, Doyle Cook of Springfield, David Cook of Bolivar and Charlida Rector of Bucyrus; 17 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; two brothers: Lloyd Cook of Clara and Billy Cook of White Deer, Texas; and numerous other family and friends.
Services were Wednesday, Feb. 4, at Evans Funeral Home with Pastor Terry Brown and Pastor Ted Moore officiating. Burial was in Ellis Prairie Cemetery.
