Texas County deputies are investigating several crimes in the county.

The following are excerpts of reports generated by the Texas County Sheriff’s Department:

•A deputy was dispatched at about 11:20 a.m. Feb. 15 regarding a report of cattle in the roadway at U.S. 63 and Arthur Creek Road north of Houston. The officer helped the animals’ owner get two cows back into a pasture.

•A woman who manages a rental property on Evening Shade Road at Plato called Feb. 14 to report a solid wood door valued at $600 had been kicked in. The woman told an investigating officer that nothing appeared to have been stolen. There are no suspects.

•Joshua D. Storm, 27, of 7811 Nadine Road in Houston, was issued a citation for third-degree domestic assault after allegedly punching a 25-year-old woman in the face at his residence on Feb. 9.

•Barnuce M. Simmons, 64, of 217 E. Harker St. at Mountain Grove, was issued a citation for trespassing on Feb. 9 after allegedly going onto a man’s property after being warned not to on several occasions.

•A deputy was dispatched at about 11:30 p.m. Feb. 12 to assist Houston police with an incident in the alley behind the Sidestreet Grill on Steffens Street in Houston.

Upon arrival, the officer observed a man in the alley who was reportedly drunk and bleeding. The man was taken to the Texas County Jail for a 12-hour safekeeping hold.

•A deputy responded at about 9:30 p.m. Feb. 13 to a report of property damage at a residence at Highway EE and Finley Road.

Upon arrival, the officer made contact with a woman who stated she had gone to her former boyfriend’s house and been chased away by a man who was there. She stated that as she was driving away on Highway EE, the man drove his vehicle in front of hers and then backed into it.

A routine computer check revealed that the woman’s driver’s license was suspended. The officer issued two citations in the matter – Adam K. Haywood, 31, of 717 Finley Drive in Cabool was cited for second-degree property damage, and Brittany S. M. Manning, 23, of 1344 Highland St. in Cabool, was cited for driving while suspended.

•An officer was dispatched at about 1:40 a.m. Feb. 9 to assist the Rolla Police Department in locating a kidnapping suspect at a Highway C residence in Licking.

The officer made contact with an elderly woman who lives there who stated she was the only person there.

•A woman called at about 10:45 p.m. Feb. 8 to request a well-being check on a Bucyrus man. The woman stated she didn’t know the man’s address. An investigating officer determined the man to be in St. Louis and was fine.
