Lane Duncan single-handedly ended Houston’s postseason.

The Licking senior scored 49 points to lead the top-seeded Wildcats past No. 8 Houston 68-43 Tuesday afternoon in the opening round of the Class 3 District 10 Tournament.

The Tigers (3-20) walked off the court believing they had one game remaining. But HHS athletic director Brent Kell announced Wednesday morning the previously postponed game against Thayer will not be rescheduled as orginally planned.

HHS senior Dylan Hooper scored 14 of his team-best 18 points in the third quarter to lead the Tigers. Kolby Walker had eight points and Keegan Spurlin added seven.

Duncan reached double figures in all four quarters. He scored 13 points in the first, 10 in the second, 13 in the third and 13 in the fourth.

Licking (22-4) will play Forsyth in the semifinals at 6 p.m. Thursday. Forsyth advanced with a 59-44 victory against Ava.

Seventh-seeded Hollister upset No. 2 Mountain Grove 52-49 for just its fifth win of the season. Hollister advances to the semis to face Liberty, which beat Willow Springs 60-53 in the first round.
