Sales tax revenue in Houston decreased during the last monthly distribution, the Missouri Department of Revenue said. 

Revenue from a one-cent sales tax declined in the City of Houston during the first distribution of the year, the Missouri Department of Revenue reported.

The tally was $56,296, which was down about $2,523 from the previous period a year ago.

Merchants also collect two, quarter-cent sales taxes. Each generated $13,313, which was down $413 from ’14.

An eighth-cent sales tax for debt retirement on a fire truck totaled $6,656.
