Wava Janice Brown, 92, daughter of Fred and Violet (Sullivan) Reeves, was born March 31, 1922, near Solo, Mo. She died Sunday, Feb. 8, 2015, in Paducah, Ky.
She married Paul Lyman Brown of Tyrone on June 16, 1940, at Simmons, Mo.
Mrs. Brown spent most of her lifetime working in Houston and loved working at the Brown Shoe Store because of the fellowship with co-workers and customers. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Houston.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Brown; her parents; one son, Billy Brown; three sisters, Alberta White, Wilma Purcell, and Glendora Martin; and one brother, Herbert Reeves.
Surviving are one son, Lyman Brown and wife, Regina, of Paducah, Ky.; one sister, Laura Adey of Houston; daughter-in-law, Janet Brown of Largo, Fla.; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services were 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11, at Evans Funeral Home with Dr. Howell Burkhead officiating. Burial was in Pine Lawn Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Evans Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Willie Adey, Terry Brown, Tom Parker, Mike Adey, Kent Brown and Joel Brown.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Houston Senior Center, Houston, Mo.
