The following are excerpts of reports generated by the Texas County Sheriff’s Department:
•A deputy was dispatched at about 7 p.m. March 19 after a man reported that someone had entered a church on Austin Lake Road near Mountain Grove and made satanic symbols in food items. The man requested increased patrolling in the area.
•A deputy was dispatched at about 5 p.m. March 20 after a child was reported missing from a Highway N residence at Licking. The child was located.
•A deputy was dispatched at about 12:10 a.m. March 22 regarding a report of a man and woman in the roadway on U.S. 63 about five miles south of Houston. The officer was unable to locate the people.
•A man called at about 3 p.m. March 21 to report a dune buggy and multiple ATVs running through the river and onto his Stillhouse Road property at Willow Springs. The man told an investigating officer that the vehicles had left the area before the officer arrived, and that he had heard what sounded like gunshots as they left.
The officer was unable to locate the vehicles.
•A woman called at about 11:15 a.m. March 21 to request a well-being check on a man at Highway 137 residence at Raymondville. An investigating officer made contact with the man, and he stated he was fine and asked the officer to tell his family to stop bothering him because he wanted nothing to do with them.
•A deputy was dispatched at about 5 p.m. March 20 regarding a report of a donkey and two horses in the yard of a Highway AD residence at Cabool. The officer made contact with the 47-year-old woman who owns the animals and warned her she would be cited if she couldn’t keep them contained.
•On March 20, a deputy investigated a report of a calf that had been killed at a Dewitt Drive residence at Hartshorn. The officer observed that part of the calf’s left ear had been cut off, including its ear tag. There are no suspects.
