Dorthy Miller

Dorthy Lee (Wall) Miller, 88, of Rolla, Mo., passed away Thursday, Feb. 26, 2015. She was born in Houston, Mo., on July 10, 1926, to the late Leslie A. and Alta L. (Watson) Wall. Dorthy was married to the late Lewis R. Miller on Dec. 15, 1944. Lewis and Dorthy were blessed with three children.

Dorthy enjoyed reading, word search puzzles, and visiting with friends. In her early life, she was employed as a secretary and bookkeeper. During her later years, she enjoyed being a Senior Companion. Dorthy would get up early and start her day with reading her Bible. She felt this was important, as well as being an active part of the women’s group at church.

Dorthy is survived by three children, Blaine and his wife, Debbie, of McKinney, Texas, Vicki Harris and her husband, Larry, of Rolla, Mo., and Barry and his wife, Veronica, of Wildwood, Mo.; one brother-in-law, Charles Miller and his wife, Dorothy, of Midland, Mich.; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; as well as many friends.

In addition to her parents, Dorthy was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis, and brother, Ernest Wall.

Funeral services for Dorthy were Monday, March 2, 2015, at the Rolla Church of Christ with Larry Harris officiating. Burial wasl in the Pine Lawn Cemetery, Houston, Mo. Music was by Angie Hein and congregational singing. Pallbearers were Jordan Davids, Scott Davids, Michael D. Harrah, Michael P. Harrah, Christopher Harris, Daniel Miller, Grant Miller, Donnie Hein and Jimmy Stilley.

Memorials are suggested to the Fair Haven Children’s Home.
