The U.S. Army Maneuver Support Center of Excellence and Fort Leonard Wood are scheduled to host a joint change of command and change of responsibility ceremony on Tuesday.
Maj. Gen. Leslie Smith is slated to transfer command to Brig. Gen. Kent Savre, and Command Sgt. Maj. Terrence Murphy will relinquish responsibility to Command Sgt. Maj. Roy Ward.
Smith’s next assignment will be as the deputy to the inspector general, Office of the Secretary of the Army, Washington, District of Columbia; Murphy is scheduled to retire.
Savre comes to Fort Leonard Wood from the Corps of Engineers in New York, while Ward comes from the Corps of Engineers in Virginia. Both have had previous assignments at Fort Leonard Wood.
