Four Houston High School basketball players were named this week to the South Central Association all-conference team.
Senior Kylee Elmore led three selections for the Lady Tigers with a spot on the first team. Sarah Kelley was a second team pick and Abby Casper received honorable mention. Representing the Tigers was senior Ty Wilkins, who received honorable mention.
Elmore, a four-year starter at HHS, averaged 15.6 points while leading the team in assists (4.6) and steals (2.5). She made 75 3-pointers – more than half of the team’s 121 – on 45.5 percent shooting from downtown.
Kelley, a junior center, averaged 16.7 points, 9.6 rebounds and 1.8 blocks to lead the Lady Tigers. She shot 58 percent from the field and 72.2 percent from the free-throw line to lead the team.
Casper, a sophomore guard, averaged 7.8 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and a team-high 2.6 steals for Houston. She was second on the team with 22 triples.
In his first season of high school basketball, Wilkins was the Tigers’ second-leading scorer at 7.0 points per game and led the team with 6.0 rebounds per game. He shot a team-high 55 percent from the field.
