Glenda Lea Stoops, 72, passed away Monday, March 2, 2015, at her home in Hartshorn.
She was born Dec. 26, 1942, in Hartshorn, daughter of Jeff and Eva Stringer. She and Clyde Lowell were married June 11,1960. He passed away March 31, 1983. She then married David Stoops on Oct. 12,1984.
She was saved and baptized at an early age. She was a member of the Hartshorn Assembly of God Church, where she attended all her life. She enjoyed going to church with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and so family and friends.
Her favorite pastime was painting with her special friend, Maggie Cobb. She loved to share her hand painted ornaments with her girls at Christmas time. She also enjoyed quilting and sewing. She made quilts for her kids and grand kids and donated many quilts for area benefits.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Clyde; and a brother, Donald Stringer.
Survivors include her husband, David of the home; two children, Marilyn Steelman of Hartshorn and Darryl Lowell of Summersville; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; five siblings, Ruthene Gift of St. Charles, Macel Anderson of Broken Bow, Neb., Norma Burch of Solo and Doug Stringer and Nadine Michel of Hartshorn; and many other family members and friends.
Services were Wednesday, March 4, at Bradford Funeral Home Chapel n Summersville with the Rev. Gary Steelman officiating. Burial was in Riley Cemetery.
