James David Van Kirk, 73, passed away Monday, March 16, 2015, at his home in Licking.

He was born April 2, 1941, in Rolla, son of Robert Gerald and 
Francis Lewellyn Humphrey Van Kirk.

He was artistic. He played lead guitar and sang in multiple bands and enjoyed working with wood and painting pictures.

He loved being outdoors, especially hunting, fishing and taking nature walks.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, David Van Kirk; and a brother, Kenneth Van Kirk.

Survivors include his wife, Peggy; of the home; three sons, Robert Van Kirk of the home, James Van Kick of Newburg and Matthew Van Kirk of Rolla; two daughters, Betty Goins of Eldon and Ricki Rudge of Columbia; five sisters; Bobette Buck, 
Sharon Van Kirk, Geraldine Andres, Molly Gann and Jenee Brown; a brother, Jimmy Pratz; 12 
grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

Services were Friday, March 20, at Fox Funeral Home with Pastor Darren Morris officiating. Burial was in Concord Cemetery.
