Violet Price

Violet May Price, 93, daughter of A.G. and Viola (Cunningham) Young, was born May 15, 1921, in Hardy, ARK. She went to join her Lord ON March 24, 2015, at her home in Plato, Mo.

Violet married Noble Price on April 9, 1935, and to this union 16 children were born.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years; her parents; two infants, a son, Doyle Price and a daughter, Barbara Price; two sisters, Marie and Delia; and three grandchildren, Tony Price, Jimmy Stanton and Jesse Price.

Violet was a member and taught Sunday school for many years at Success Baptist Church.

She loved sewing, gardening, canning and watching Days of our Lives. But her greatest accomplishment was her children; she kept very busy keeping them all in line. She spent many hours preparing meals and keeping everyone in clean clothes. Violet was very giving of her time, she never turned anyone away or had anything bad to say about anyone, and no one ever went away hungry. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the highlight of her life.

She is survived by her children, Norman Price and wife, Arlene, of Pierce City, Mo., Charles Price and wife, Margaret, of Success, Mo., Walter (Demp) Price and wife, Judy, of Aurora, Mo., Earl Price and wife, Ellen, of Midwest City, Okla., Raymond Price and wife, Pam, of Pomona, Mo., Dortha Clow of Purdy, Mo., Shirley Stice and husband, Danny, of Success, Mo., Lois Stanton and husband, Tom, of Houston, Mo., Jerry Price of Cadet, Mo., Gilbert Price and wife, Amy, of Aurora, Mo., Paul Price and wife, Brenda, of Aurora, Mo., Phillip Price and wife, Shannon, of Sapulpa, Okla., Star Stice and husband, Lonnie, of Plato, Mo., and Scott Price and wife, Lisa, of Sarcoxie, Mo.; 72 grandchildren; 111 great-grandchildren; and 23 great-great grandchildren.

She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister and grandmother and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Services were 11 a.m. Friday, March 27, 2015, at Success Baptist Church with Pastor Ted Moore officiating. Pallbearers were Norman Price, Charles Price, Walter Price, Earl Price, Raymond Price, Jerry Price, Gilbert Price, Paul Price, Phillip Price and Scott Price. Burial was in C.T. Smith Cemetery under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
