The following are excerpts of reports generated by the Texas County Sheriff’s Department:
•A woman called March 11 to report someone walking around her New Hope Drive residence the night before, and finding a comb in the yard in the morning.
•A 67-year-old man came to the TCSD office March 11 to report that a bale spike valued at $400 had been stolen from his Ranch Road property at Tyrone.
•The Texas County prosecuting attorney’s office requested assistance March when a woman was in the office who had an active Texas County felony warrant for burglary. She also faces a misdemeanor charge of stealing.
The woman – Cherri Haggadone, 36 – was arrested and taken to the county jail and held on $500,000 bond.
Texas County Sheriff James Sigman said the charges stem from a January incident at the house of her ex-husband in southern Texas County. The man left after a confrontation, and later found several items missing, including a generator and a solar charging device, Sigman said.
•A deputy was dispatched March 8 to a Stillman Drive residence at Cabool after a woman reported four chickens missing. The woman told the officer she had found feathers scattered around and assumed the chickens had been killed by a neighbor’s dogs.
While the deputy was at the neighbor’s residence, the woman called and said the chickens had returned.
•A deputy was dispatched at about 12:20 a.m. March 4 regarding a suicidal person at the Southern Inn in Houston. Upon arrival, the deputy observed that a Houston police officer had secured the scene and the person had been taken to the hospital.
•A deputy was dispatched at about 1 p.m. March 9 regarding a report of a man walking along the railroad tracks near Highway AV at Cabool. The officer was unable to locate the man.
