The Texas County Commission appointed an interim recorder of deeds last week following the passing of the officeholder.
Lindsay Koch, an employee in the recorder’s office, was named to the post vacated by Susan Warkentin, who passed away March 29. Warkentin held the position since Jan. 1, 2011.
The county notified the office of Gov. Jay Nixon, who will make an appointment for the remainder of the term that ends Dec. 31, 2018. It also contacted the Missouri Association of Counties and Missouri Association of Recorder of Deeds.Â
