Military veteran

Donald Lee Lockhart, 72, son of Walter and Ruby (Silvey) Lockhart, was born on June 13, 1942, and Katherine Clydine (Casey) Lockhart, 65, daughter of Clyde and Maxine (Winn) Casey, was born May 17, 1949. They both passed away on April 14, 2015, due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Donald always said he found his ‘child bride’ in Katherine (Kathy) and they were united in marriage on May 17, 1993.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Bill.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Larry Korneman; and infant daughter, Loretta Lynn Korneman.

They are survived by two daughters, Julie Moore and husband, Joey, of Houston and Donette Spann and husband, Jeff, of Cabot, Ark.; a son, Robert Lockhart and wife, Rachel, of Bolivar; a sister, Janice Grove and husband, Edsel, of Cortland, Neb.; a brother, Howard and wife, Pam, of West Plains; a sister, Carol Casey of Houston; a brother, Walter Casey of Birch Tree; 14 grandchildren, Stephanie Korneman, Jenny Spauldin, Jessica Spauldin, Josi Spauldin, Justin Stump, Katelyn Stump, Schyler Lockhart, C.J. Moore, Chris Moore, Terry Wolfe, Kristen Spann, Kayla Spann, Brent Spann and Leayla Blake; seven great-grandchildren, Peyton, Colten, Brently, Ellie, Jonathan, Trey and Baylee; and several nieces and nephews.

Donald grew up in the Seymour area and graduated from Seymour High School in 1960.

Katherine grew up in the Cameron, Mo., area and attended Cameron High School.

Donald was proud to serve his country in the United States Air Force and retired in 1985 after 20 years in the 4950 Avionics Maintenance Squadron stationed at Wright Patterson AFB in Ohio. He was an instrumentation technician where he monitored frequencies for missiles including the Apollo missions.

He also was employed by the Missouri Department of Corrections as a Corrections Officer in Bowling Green and Licking and retired after five years of service.

Kathy was an entrepreneur and business owner in the hospitality industry including restaurants in Seymour, Centralia, and Forsythe, Mo. Along with Donald, she owned and operated flea markets and antique stores in Marshfield and the Grand Avenue Mall in downtown Houston. You could always find them at auctions, garage sales and wherever a good deal could be found.

Donald and Kathy officially retired in 2008 to pursue their love of traveling in their RV. They spent many seasons in Michigan and Florida.

They attended Faith Fellowship in Houston and were members of First Baptist Church of Umatilla, Fla.

They were always together and loved each other as much as they drove each other crazy. But, their love endured the ups and downs and ultimately they are rejoicing in Heaven together with their Lord and Savior.

Services were 2 p.m. Saturday, April 18, 2015, at Faith Fellowship in Houston, Mo., with Pastor Bill Villapiano and Pastor John Comer officiating. Pallbearers were Joey Moore, Jeff Spann, Bruce Lockhart, Boyd Lockhart, Robert Lockhart and Justin Stump. Burial with full military honors was in Wolford Cemetery under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
