The arrival of green grass means that the Houston Garden Club has launched its annual lawn contest.
Taking top honors were Bill and Vera Gladden at 205 Hamrick. Other winners: Ruby James, 1010 Hawthorn, second; and Fred and Linda Walker, 227 Hamrick.
Taking the business award was the Texas County Administrative Center at 210 N. Grand Ave.
