The Houston High School choir earned 78 individual medals and advanced 30 students to the state competition at last week’s District Music Festival in West Plains.
Under the direction of Beth Williamson, the choir earned 40 “I” medals and 30 “II” medals. Those advancing to state will compete May 1-2 in Columbia.
Earning top ratings from HHS were:
Vocal ensemble: Keegan Spurlin, Caleb Adkison, Skylur Malam, Kyler Stark, Noah Moseley, Lance Smith, Jefferson Thomas, Kaitlyn Root, Tayler Ward, Destiny Ullom, Demi Creek, Lexi Morgan, Nikki Coleman, Laura Monks, Leanna Schafer, Taylor Bryson, Elisa Williamson, Sydney Anderson, Darby Bell, Elizabeth Scott, Adrianna Bard, Marley Stoops, Megan Morland, Elizabeth Harris, Jayden Beasley, Carly Crawford, Jaycee Huff and Summer Floyd.
Vocal solo: Caleb Adkison, Taylor Bryson, Tayler Ward, Phorona Thomas, Jefferson Thomas, Nikki Coleman and Lexi Morgan.
