A new Newspaper In Education series that kicks off this week in the Houston Herald takes families on a journey across the state with interactive activities and the opportunity to win prizes.
Beginning with Walt Disney, the activity ‘Missouri Road Trip 2015’ features a Missouri native each week and a physical location to attend. Among the others featured are Laura Ingalls Wilder, Harry Truman and Dred Scott.
Every activity –– printed on page A4 of the Herald –– has a short biography of the person along with bullet point facts and the road trip location. There is an opportunity to win weekly prizes with a code to enter online as well as a Twitter hashtag. One family will win a summer finale prize that includes a trip from Hannibal to St. Joseph including lodging, attraction tickets and a $150 gas card.
