Texas County deputies are investigating several crimes in the county.

The following are excerpts of reports generated by the Texas County Sheriff’s Department:

•Rodney J. Osborne, 47, of 19136 Highway 32 in Licking, was issued a citation for driving while intoxicated following a traffic stop of a white Dodge Ram pickup on Slaughter Road near Boone Creek Road at about 9:20 p.m. May 2.

An officer who made the stop smelled alcohol after making contact with the driver, and field sobriety tests were conducted. Osborne was taken to the Texas County Jail.

•An officer was dispatched at about 2 p.m. May 3 after a woman reported gunfire on her Boiling Springs Road property. The officer determined the shots were being fired by a neighbor man shooting at targets in his backyard across the highway.

•A deputy was dispatched at about 10:30 a.m. April 21 regarding a report of an assault at the Bel Noir Apartments on U.S. 63 in Cabool.

The officer made contact with a 54-yar-old woman who lives there who stated a 52-year-old neighbor man had come to her apartment and hit her in the face, and that she was an FBI agent and the deputy needed to arrest the man. The deputy spoke to the man, and he said he hadn’t touched the woman or come to her residence, and that she was crazy and might hurt someone.

The officer went back to the woman and asked her where she had been hit, but was unable to see evidence that she had been stuck in the face. She then said she was going to “call her FBI agent” about the deputy being in her apartment.

The deputy asked the woman if she needed medical assistance and she said she didn’t. The deputy asked her if she wanted to pursue charges against her neighbor and she said she didn’t.

•A 32-year-old Cabool woman came to the TCSD office May 1 and reported a storage unit of hers had been broken into and bedroom items, clothing and other goods had been swiped. She stated she had gone to the unit and found the lock to its door had been cut and was lying on the floor.

An investigating officer contacted the man who owns the storage facility and he stated the woman was a month behind on rent and that when he noticed the lock was cut he assumed she had finally removed her belongings. Investigation of the matter continues.

•A deputy assisted a county juvenile officer with an arrest of a 16-year-old boy April 30 at a Highway E residence at Houston. The deputy reported that the juvenile officer made the arrest without incident, and the boy was transported to a facility in Sedalia.

•Thomas M.V. Volner, 24, of Summersville, was issued a citation for failing to stop at a posted stop sign after a deputy observed a green sedan travel through the intersection of Highways 17 and K without stopping at about 9 a.m. April 30.

•A deputy was dispatched April 30 regarding a report of a suspicious odor at a Highway PP residence. The officer made contact with the residents there, who stated they hadn’t been home for about a day, but that the neighbors had been burning trash piles.

•A 45-year-old Summersville man called April 30 to report that a 30-year-old Cabool man had been doing some work for him and had swiped a chainsaw valued at $600 and some logger’s tape valued at $70. An officer advised the man the gear had already been recovered, and he could pick it up at the TCSD office.
