Abby Casper sped to a district title and runner-up finish at Saturday’s Class 3 District 5 track meet in Owensville.
Casper, a sophomore, topped the field in the 200 meters in 27.62 seconds. She just missed a second title by finishing second in the 100 in 13.58.
Casper advances to represent Houston High School in the sectional round on Saturday at Eldon High School.
The Lady Tigers finished ninth in the 12-team district field. The Tigers were 11th.
Sophomore Tori McCloud finished ninth in both the 100 and 300 hurdles. Erica Johnson placed ninth in the discus.
Trenton Best ran the 300 hurdles in 43.72 to finish fifth as the highest finisher for the HHS boys. Caleb Adkison was sixth in 44.29 and placed eighth in the 110 hurdles in 17.20.
Freshman Evan Richardson was 11th in the 100 meters in 12.36. Nathan Sawyer ran the 3200 in 12:41.93 to finish 14th.
Ashton Whitman was 15th in the 800 in 2:53.43.
