Workers install part of the base area of the "Memorial for the Fallen," a monument in Licking to be dedicated May 30 honoring military personnel, law enforcement officers and firefighters from the Licking area who died in the line of duty.

A ceremony Saturday in Licking will unveil the new “Memorial for the Fallen” monument.

Located at 107 W. Highway 32 next to Landmark Bank, the monument honors members of the Armed Forces as well as law enforcement officers and firefighters from the area. The ceremony begins at 10 a.m.

The guest speaker is Col. Brian R. Bisacre of the Army. Along with the posting of colors from color guards representing Fort Leonard Wood, the Missouri State Highway Patrol and the City of Licking, there will be a 21-gun salute and the releasing of balloons.
