Texas County deputies recently handled several investigations.

The following are excerpts of reports generated by the Texas County Sheriff’s Department:

•A deputy was dispatched just after midnight May 7 regarding a report of property damage at a Little Creek Road residence at Mountain Grove.

The officer made contact with a 42-year-old man there who said he had been drinking with a 42-year-old woman at the residence when his former girlfriend showed up and broke a window out of his truck with a stick. Investigation of the matter continues.

•A deputy investigated a report of property damage May 7 at a Lone Star Drive residence at Houston. A man who lives there told the officer a brick wall near the driveway entrance had been damaged, apparently by a vehicle striking it.

There are no suspects.

•A deputy responded at about 9 p.m. May 7 to a report of gunfire at a Craddock Drive residence at Licking.

A 38-year-old man who lives there told the officer another man had come to the edge of his property and yelled and fired five or six shots toward people at the location. The officer searched the area where the man said the alleged gunman had been standing, but was unable to find any spent bullet casings.

The officer then made contact with the man who allegedly fired the shots, and he said the first man had actually assaulted him in the roadway with an ax handle. The deputy stated the second man’s story matched evidence.

A report was sent to the country prosecutor.

•A deputy responded May 11 to a request by Springfield police to locate a stolen trailer that might be at an Oakdale Road or Davis Street location at Houston. The deputy did not observe it.

•Katrina A. Martin, 29, of 8197 Fisher Drive in Houston, was issued a citation for third-degree assault after allegedly punching a 48-year-old woman in the face May 12 at a Highway M residence at Cabool.

•Teresa V. Adams, 57, of 11927 Mallard Drive at Licking, was issued a citation for driving while intoxicated at about 9:30 p.m. May 12.

An officer cited Adams after meeting with her at a U.S. 63 gas station after she had reported a domestic dispute. The officer stated that when contact was made with Adams, she was sitting in the driver’s seat of a vehicle and was observed to be intoxicated. She reportedly stated she had driven to the location. Field sobriety tests were conducted.

•A deputy on May 13 escorted an officer with the St. James Police Department to an Amburn Road residence at Raymondville so the officer could question a possible witness to a shooting that occurred two years ago in St. James.

•Andrew B. Lewis, 26, of 11871 Highway 63 in Licking, was issued a citation for third-degree assault after allegedly assaulting a 36-year-old man during an incident may 13 at a VanCleve Drive residence at Licking.
