Ethel Lou Cole, 80, passed away Thursday, April 30, 2015, at her home in Houston.
She was born Oct. 22, 1934, in Bado, daughter of daughter of Vern and Hazel Rust Altis. She and Leroy Cole were married Feb. 6, 1955, at Providence Free Will Baptist Church in Cabool.
She attended school at Oak Grove and later graduated from Cabool High School in 1953. She worked at Brown Shoe Factory for many years until it shut down. She attended school to be a med-tech and worked at nursing homes in Cabool, Willow Springs and Licking.
She loved working in her flower and vegetable gardens, cooking for her family and decorating for holidays.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Eddie Altis.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Leroy of the home; two daughters, Becky Collins and Irene Massey of Houston; two sons, Jimmy Cole of Success and Terry Cole of Wayne, Okla.; seven grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 22 step great-grandchildren.
Services were Tuesday, May 5, at Evans Funeral Home with Cody Neugebauer officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery.
