The Houston High School baseball team received the fourth seed in next week’s Class 3 District 10 tournament at Mountain Grove.

The Tigers (14-7) will face No. 5 Liberty at 6:30 p.m. Friday, May 15, in the finale of two first-round games. The other matchup pits third-seeded Ava against No. 6 Willow Springs at 4 p.m.

The district’s top two seeds – Mountain Grove and Licking – both received first-round byes. The Panthers will play the winner of the Houston-Liberty game at 4 p.m. Monday, May 18. Licking will face the Ava-Willow Springs winner at 6:30 p.m. that day.

The championship is 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 19.

Houston won its regular-season matchup with Liberty 11-10 on April 27. The Tigers split matchups with both Mountain Grove and Licking.

HHS concludes its regular season with a home game Friday against Plato and road game Monday at Mansfield.

Houston High School athletic director Brent Kell announced Friday morning that times for the first-round games had been switched. The Tigers will play at 6:30 p.m.
