The City of Houston has two trucks for deployment. This aerial one, and a second one that is undergoing an analysis to determine mechanical issues. A third one is on site, but serves only as a backup.

The City of Houston Fire Department’s Pierce Quantum ladder truck was loaded onto a long flatbed trailer Wednesday in the parking lot at GAMO USA on U.S. 63 in Houston for transport to Pierce’s headquarters in Appleton, Wis.

The truck will spend an indefinite period at Pierce’s repair facility after being damaged in a single-vehicle accident May 13 at Texas County Memorial Hospital.

Houston Fire Chief Joey Moore said the Mountain Grove Fire Department’s ladder truck is experiencing pump problems and will be out of service for a lengthy period.

“That means if we were to need a ladder truck, the closest ones now are in Seymour and West Plains,” Moore said.
