Kenneth Frank Spencer was born July 4, 1927, at Ashley Creek, Mo., to Frank Wilbur and Gladys Marie (Davis) Spencer and passed away May 12, 2015, at his home at Ashley Creek at the age of 87 years.
On Feb. 18, 1950, Kenneth was united in marriage to Mildred Amy Herndon; he was a deacon at Montauk Baptist Church and helped build the church. Kenneth worked in the timber industry, owning his own sawmill and also farmed. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and farming.
Preceding him in death were his parents; daughters, Judy Spencer and Betty Roderick; brother, Wayne Spencer; and great-grandson, Will Pace.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred Spencer of Ashley Creek; children, Glen Ray Spencer and wife, Marcia of Salem, Jeanne Paris of Ozark, Paul Spencer and wife, Darla, of Raymondville; sister, Betty June Caywood of Salem; eight grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Kenneth will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Funeral service for Kenneth Frank Spencer were Saturday, May 16, 2015, at the Montauk Baptist Church with Bro. Lloyd Heavin and Bro. Mike Gorman officiating. Special music was provided by Norma Gorman, Sharon Williams and Sharon Schafer. Serving as pallbearers were Gary Gorman, Jerry Gorman, Jesse Sullins, Josh Gorman, Rawly Gorman and Bruce Rogers, honorary pallbearers were Harry Foley, Tom Perry and Larry Williams. Interment was in the North Lawn Cemetery with all arrangements under the direction of Wilson Mortuary, Salem.
