Laurel Clyde Thompson, 77, son of Harvey J. and Emma (Stocker) Thompson, was born Aug. 27, 1937, in Logan, Utah. He died May 20, 2015, in Licking, Mo.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Ralph and Roy; and his sister, Faye.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Ramona Louise (Calderon); daughters, Connie Millar and Melinda Sodano; son, Peter Thompson; as well as 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Laurel worked as a machinist and at Boeing. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and the outdoors. He inspired many young men through his scouting activity and actively served in the Seattle Temple. Laurel loved his family and enjoyed the time he was able to spend with each of them.
Services were 11 a.m. Saturday, May 23, at Evans Funeral Home with Bishop Doc Openshaw officiating. Burial was in Pine Lawn Cemetery. Pallbearers were KC Hansen, Chip Roberts, Steve Millar, Riley Roberts, Andrew Sodano, Owen Roberts, Peter Thompson, and Ethan Roberts. Honorary Pallbearers were Ryan Millar, Logan Millar, Steven Millar, Joseph Millar, Landon Millar, Jack Thompson, Nicholas Hansen and Matthew Thompson.
