Norma Foust Goodart was born Sept. 23, 1927, at Earl, Ark., to Floyd and Laura Elizabeth

(Hancock) Foust. She passed away May 20, 2015, surrounded by family.

Norma married Merle Goodart on Dec. 25, 1949. To this union two children were born, Merle Goodart, Jr. and Rita Ruth (Goodart) Romines.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Merle Goodart; her son, Merle Goodart, Jr.; and brother, Doyle Foust.

She is survived by her husband, Charles Beavers of the home; her daughter, Rita Ruth Romines and husband, Glenn, of Houston, Mo.; two grandchildren, Krista O’Neil and husband, Bob, of Lebanon, Mo., and Grant Goodart and wife, Molly, of Jonesboro, Ark.; sister, Maxine Stokes of Kileen, Texas; three great-grandsons, Ty and Bodee O’Neil and Benson Goodart; daughter-in-law, Stephanie Goodart; nephew, Dennis Stokes and wife, Debbie; along with many nieces and nephews.

Norma was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Hickory Ridge, Ark. She continued to attend church at the First United Methodist Church when she moved to Houston, Mo., in 2003.

Norma’s children and grandchildren were the center of her life. Affectionately known as “Nonie,” she opened her heart to all she met. Forever, a southern lady with a heart of gold. She was gracious, kind, hospitable, strong and hard working. She was most of all the one and only Nonie.

II Timothy 4:7 – “I have fought the good fight; I have finished my course I have kept the faith.”

A graveside memorial service is 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2015, in Lewis Cemetery, Hickory Ridge, Ark. Mrs. Goodart was cremated under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
