Texas County's harvest numbers for the spring firearms season totaled 700 on Monday morning.

Texas County ranked second in the state following the second week of the spring firearms turkey season, said the Missouri Department of Conservation.

The tally was 700 birds.

Texas County was behind Franklin County, which had 743 birds.

The breakdown in Texas County was: adult gobblers, 557; juvenile birds, 137; and bearded hens, six.

The season ends May 10 and opened April 20.
