Texas County’s unemployment rate dropped in April to 7.2 percent, the Missouri Department of Economic Development said.
That’s a drop of nine-tenths of a percentage point from the previous month.
The agency said the civilian labor force stood at 9,535, which was up 29 from the prior month. Unemployed was estimated at 684.
In south-central Missouri, the average jobless rate in April was 7.2 percent. Area counties and their unemployment rates: Douglas, 7.2; Howell, 7; Shannon, 9.8; and Wright, 6.8.
