Vona Lavera Bilbrey King, 87, passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2015.

She was born Sept. 10, 1927, in Summersville, daughter of Charley High and Viola Catherine Bilbrey. She and Arnold Ray King were married June 21, 1946, in Salem, Ark.

She worked in Springfield with her sister, Faye, and sister-in-law, Lina Terrill Bilbrey, until WWII ended. She then moved back to Summersville, where she was married. She and her husband, Ray, moved to the farm in 1948. She then worked 30 years at Angelica Uniform Company until retiring to the farm.

She was baptized Aug. 29, 1982, at Eunice Church and later went to the Midvale Pentecostal Holiness Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray; her parents; three brothers, Elmer, Alfred and Dorvan Bilbrey; and four sisters, Virgie Hartwein, Edna Wilcox Laidley, Almeda Faye Bilbrey and Idella Marie Pitts.

Survivors include four children, Arnold Ray King, Jr., Doris Cooper and Jimmie Don King of Summersville and Gary Lynn King of Willow Springs; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; a special friend, Laura Grunhagen of Germany; and a host of other family members and friends.

Services were Friday, May 8, at Bradford Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. James Bradford officiating. Burial was in Bethel Cemetery.
