One person was injured Saturday morning, June 20, in a crash about three miles south of Houston.

A Houston woman sustained moderate injuries Saturday morning when her vehicle traveled off U.S. 63, overturned and was destroyed by fire, authorities said.

Sgt. Dale Pounds of the Missouri State Highway Patrol said a southbound 1998 Oldsmobile Silhouette driven by Mildred L. Wilson, 71, traveled off the highway near Hogan Road, struck an embankment, overturned and hit a stop sign and telephone box before catching fire.

Wilson, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to Texas County Memorial Hospital by ambulance after the 5:51 a.m. accident.

The Houston Rural Fire Department was called to the scene.
