Deputies from the Texas County Sheriff's Department were called to several investigations in the last week.

The following are excerpts of reports generated by the Texas County Sheriff’s Department:

•A deputy responded at about 1:40 a.m. June 13 to a Highway M residence at Cabool after a woman reported receiving a threatening voice message from her former husband.

In the message, the man reportedly said “you’re done.” The officer advised the woman to file for a full order of protection.

•A 52-year-old Cabool man reported June 20 that a new yellow Cub Cadet mower valued at $17,960 and a car battery valued at $125 had been stolen from his Highway U residence. There are no suspects.

•A 72-year-old man called June 21 to report a burglary at his Morton Road residence at Houston.

The man told an investigating officer someone had kicked in the front door and swiped a few cans of soda out of his refrigerator. The officer reported a previous response to the same location for the exact same reason.

There are no suspects.

•A representative of the Cabool Police Department called at about 8 a.m. June 20 to report that a 31-year-old woman was on her way to Texas County Memorial Hospital for treatment of injuries after allegedly being assaulted by her boyfriend during an argument at his residence the previous night.

After an investigation, a deputy issued a citation for third-degree assault to Michael Nelson, 39, of 5486 U.S. 63 in Houston.

•A deputy was dispatched at about 11:40 p.m. June 20 after a woman reported a strange substance on her Highway AZ property. The officer determined it was the woman’s hair that had likely been pulled out of a septic lagoon by an animal.

•A deputy responded at about 1:10 p.m. June 19 regarding a report of a dog acting aggressively at a Tiffany Drive trailer park at Houston. The officer made contact with a woman there who started the dog was barking and growling at her 5-year-old child.

Contact was made with the woman who owns the dog and she was warned that she would be cited if an officer had to return for the same reason.
