Houston High School volleyball coach Skye Wade, who resigned in November, will be an assistant coach at Pittsburgh (Kan.) State.

Former Houston High School volleyball coach Skye Wade is joining a collegiate staff as an assistant coach.

Wade was announced in May as assistant volleyball coach at Pittsburg State in Pittsburgh, Kan. She joins the staff of head coach Jenny Mueller, who coached Wade at William Woods as she earned all-American honors as a setter.

“Skye consistently showed the innate ability to lead,” Mueller said. “I looked to her as a coach on the court, and her competitive drive was addictive within her teams. Skye was a fierce competitor on the court, and I look forward to that fiery passion translating into her new coaching role here at Pitt State.

A Licking High School graduate, Wade was hired in May 2011 as HHS head volleyball coach. She led the Lady Tigers for four seasons and they had a combined 41-66-12 record.

Wade resigned from Houston in November.
