Houston police issued several citations related to traffic-related matters during the last week.

The following are excerpts from reports generated by the Houston Police Department:

•Christopher R. Romines, 34, of 7075 Highway 17 in Houston, was issued a citation for operating a motorcycle when not motorcycle qualified following a traffic stop on Thomasville Road at Highway 17 at about 7:40 a.m. June 22.

At about 8:30 p.m. June 24, Romines was issued citations for careless and imprudent driving and failure to register a motor vehicle after a traffic stop on U.S. 63.

•Irene DeWitt, 70, of 925 Cleveland Road in Houston, was issued a citation for failure to stop at a posted stop sign after a two-vehicle accident at First and Oak streets at about 2 p.m. June 24.

An investigating officer determined that the 2002 Ford Taurus being driven by DeWitt had been traveling eastbound on Oak Street and turned onto First Street without stopping, and then crashed into a vehicle traveling northbound on First Street.

After the impact, DeWitt’s car reportedly continued through the intersection and ran over a stop sign.

•Kenneth D. Romine, 40, of 12299 Bell Road at Roby and 15342 Highway AA at Bucyrus, was issued a citation for peace disturbance after an incident at Twirlees Ice Cream on U.S. 63 at about 4:15 p.m. June 16.

An investigating officer determined Romine had gotten into an argument with the owner of Twirlees and had refused to leave after being asked several times. The officer reported that Romine was upset because Twirlees had been okayed to open by the Texas County Health Department, but a business he had tried to open at a nearby location had not been approved.

•Gary J. Schueler, 49, of 612 Maple St. in Houston, was issued citations for driving with a suspended license and failing to stop at a posted stop sign after a traffic stop on Hamrick Avenue at about 4:30 p.m. June 22. An officer made the stop after observing a blue Chevrolet Cavalier travel south through a four-way stop at Hawthorne Street and Hamrick Avenue.
