Michael Curtis Laws, 74, son of Leroy “Bud” and Levia Blanche (Duet) Laws, was born Aug. 18, 1940, in Golden Meadow, La. He passed away June 1, 2015, at his home in Bucyrus, Mo.
He was preceded in death by his parents, an uncle and nine aunts.
Michael is survived by a son, Michael Laws, Jr and wife, Ruth; daughter, Malinda Salinger and husband, Carey; one grandson, Alexander; three granddaughters Angel, Brooke and Cara; his aunt, Ethel Marie Moreau; five cousins, John C. Moureau, Jr, Kenneth P. Moreau, Cathy Byers, Judy M. Brasher and Paul Moreau; and numerous cousins and friends.
Michael was a kind, loving, honest and respectful man. He had a hard life and overcame many obstacles. He just wanted love and affection from his family and friends.
Michael loved the outdoors and nature and was an avid duck and deer hunter and was known by his friends to be one of the best shots.
He was a longtime member of the Pipeline Union #798 and proud of it. He enjoyed a successful career as a welder. Michael took great pride in his homestead and property and it showed. Everything was in pristine condition, quite the show place.
May God bless him and lift him up to the most beautiful scenery in heaven. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Graveside Services were 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 8, 2015, in Ellis Prairie Cemetery with Pastor David Barbee officiating. Services were under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
