Myrna Faye Todd Darter, 74, passed away Thursday, June 18, 2014.
She was born Jan. 31, 1941, in Houston, daughter of Ernest Elmer and June Marie Strain Todd. She and Hubert Walter Darter were married March 3, 1957.
She and her siblings were raised in the Texas, Wright, and Greene county areas. She attended school at Mountain Grove through the 10th grade then later obtained her GED.
For 23 years, she traveled around the world alongside her husband, Hubert, as he served in the Navy. During this time, they lived in 28 different homes from coast-to-coast and even internationally for five years in Italy. In 1979, the family made their final move and settled into a home just outside of Cabool.
She came to know the Lord at an early age and served him faithfully during her lifetime. She also joined her husband in the ministry as they served the congregations of Clear Springs, Mt. Pisgah, Faith and Hope and Ellis Prairie. For the past few years, she worshipped at Cabool Second Baptist Church.
She had several occupations over the years ranging from bank teller to accountant for the family trucking business.
She enjoyed cooking, reading and doing jigsaw puzzles. She would also sew or crochet handmade items for family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson; and a brother, Kenneth Todd.
Survivors include her husband, Hubert of the home; two sons, Tod Darter and Water Darter; a daughter, Myrna Sue McClellan; a sister, Glenna Postlewait; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services were Monday, June 22, at Cabool Second Baptist Church with Duane Crewse and Terry Brown officiating. Burial was in the Cabool Cemetery under the direction of Elliott-Gentry-Carder Funeral Home of Cabool, MO.
