The Raymondville Picnic is set for June 18-20.

The 65th edition of the Raymondville Picnic is June 18-20.

Held at the community fairgrounds, the annual event includes multiple family activities ranging from local merchants and music by area bands to a truck pull, arts and crafts as well as a midway carnival.

Admission and parking are free for the three-day event. Advance armbands for the carnival hosted by Big D’s Amusements are $12 and available at the Village of Raymondville office, Raymondville computer law, Raymondville Grocery, E. Marie’s Express, Memories and Dreams in Houston or Landmark Bank at its Houston and Licking locations. Armbands are $15 at the picnic.

Scheduled events:

Friday, June 19

• 5 p.m. –– Family fun picnic games like sack races, tug-of-war, three-legged races and more in the south arena and meet new Raymondville Fire Department Chief Mike Jackson.

• 6 p.m. –– Demonstrations of gun safety and skills in the art of self-defense.

• 6:30 p.m. –– Bingo and carnival rides.

• 7 p.m. –– Music by Gene DeWitt and the Country Survivors.

Saturday, June 20

• 1 p.m. –– Arts and crafts displays in the village community building as well as videos and hunting tips from Lynn Wilson of the TV show, “The Quick Draw Madness Hunting Team.”

• 2 p.m. –– Tractor pull sponsored by Cabool’s Older Iron Club. Weigh-in begins at 1 p.m. Tractors 30 years or older are eligible. Hookup fees are $7 for EGTA members or $12 for non-members.

• 6:30 p.m. –– Bingo and carnival rides.

• 7 p.m. –– Music from Garold McCoy and the South 63 Band.
