Ronald G. “Ron” Stillwell, 70, of Mountain Grove, passed away on Monday, June 8, 2015, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield.
He was born Jan. 17, 1945, in Mountain Grove, son of Gene and Irma Medlock Stillwell. He and Linda Walters were married Nov. 11, 1972.
He graduated from Mountain Grove High School in 1963 and later from Southwest Missouri State University.
He owned and operated Farmers Insurance Agency and Stillwell Real Estate for many years.
He served in the National Guard in the late 1960s and ’70s.
He was an amateur radio operator with the Ozark Mountain Amateur Radio Club.
He enjoyed visiting with friends and people he met at various coffee shops in the area.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Linda of the home; a son, Ronald of Mountain Grove; a daughter, Amy Vermillion of Colorado; and a grandson.
Services were Friday, June 12, at Calvary Temple Church in Mountain Grove with the Rev. Bill Morris officiating. Burial was in Hillcrest Cemetery under the direction of Elliott-Gentry-Carder Funeral Home.
