Plans for the annual Texas County Fair and Old Settlers Reunion on July 22-25 have been announced.
The event is sponsored by the Houston Area Chamber of Commerce and is held on the chamber’s fairgrounds on North U.S. 63.
During the first two days of fair, registration will be held to determine the oldest attending “settler.” The winner will be recognized Thursday evening and will be presented with an antique rocker.
Here is the schedule:
6:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 22, arena: Christian Youth Night with Riders on a Mission (R.O.A.M.) and One Band plus area church talent.
6:30 p.m. Thursday, July 23: Fit Family Night, Color Run/Walk. Music provided by Cat Daddy and the Wild Whiskers. Bike and Car Cruise-In. “Oldest settler” to be recognized.
7 p.m. Friday, July 24: World League Wrestling with guest appearance by professional wrestler Harley Race.
Saturday, July 25: All day, Dyno in Infinite Entertainment parking lot. Draggin’ Wagon Truck Pull beginning at 7 p.m.
Lowery Carnival Co. Inc. is providing this year’s midway.
The Texas County Fair Board will host various livestock shows and competition at its quarters south of the grandstand. Livestock activity begins Wednesday morning and concludes Saturday with the annual junior livestock sale that begins at 2 p.m.
