A 46-year-old woman faces three felony charges and is held in the Texas County Jail on $1 million bond as a result of an alleged stabbing incident early Tuesday afternoon in Cabool.

According to a probable cause stated submitted to the Texas County prosecutor by an officer with the Cabool Police Department, multiple officers went at about 1 p.m. to 1024 Walnut St. after a report was received that a man had been stabbed there. Upon arrival, two officers went to the back door of the home and observed a knife lying on the floor in a pool of blood, and a trail of blood that led to the front door.

Officers then made contact with a man sitting on the front porch who had a blood-soaked towel covering his right bicep and a pool of blood under him. The man identified a woman who lives at the residence as the person who stabbed him, and officers contacted her inside the home.

The woman was reportedly crying and told officers she had struck the man with the knife during an argument.

The reporting officer stated the woman had apparently taken a steak knife from a knife block in the kitchen and stabbed the man about 23 feet away.

Renee D. Clouse, 46, of 1024 Walnut St. in Cabool, was arrested and taken to the Texas County Jail. She is charged with first-degree domestic assault (serious physical injury), armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon.

The victim was taken to Texas County Memorial Hospital and then transferred for more intensive care to Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains.

Clouse reportedly gave the man the towel after she stabbed him.

The reporting officer stated Clouse was already a convicted felon and that a pistol was found in her bedroom during a search. She was convicted on drug charges in Polk County in September 2013, records show.
