The Houston Area Chamber of Commerce will sponsor a demolition derby Aug. 1 at the chamber fairgrounds on North U.S. 63.
Up to $4,800 in prize money will be presented at the event, which begins at 7 p.m. at the grandstand. Registration begins at 3 p.m. Cars must be registered before inspection at 6 p.m. After that time, participants could be subject to a penalty. Twisted Metal Promotions LLC is the organizer.
Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for those 5 to 12 and children under 5 are free.
