Lynda Kathleen Roehl, 61, passed away Saturday, July 18, 2015, at her home in Eunice.
She was born in Buffalo, N.Y., daughter of John and Ann Burd.
She served 20 years as district coordinator planner for Seven County Solid Waste District. She was instrumental in establishing and sustaining recycling programs and solid waste services in all seven counties. She received an international award for her innovational Household Hazardous Waste Program and a lifetime achievement award from Missouri Recycling Association.
She enjoyed traveling with her husband, Tim, and visited all 50 states and seven provinces.
She was preceded in death by her father; a sister, Patty Collins; and brother, Tom Burd.
Survivors include her husband, Tim Roehl of the home; two daughters, Dawn Braiser of Pomona and Sharan Gruendler of St. Louis; four grandchildren; her mother, Ann Burd of Willow Springs; three sisters, Cindy Breidt and Paula Simandl of Willow Springs and Donna Balch of Barling, Ark.; two brothers, John Burd of Gaithersburg, Md., and Robert Burd of Lee’s Summit; and a host of family members and friends.
Memorial services were Saturday, July 25, at at Pomona Christian Church with the Rev. Jeremiah Woodring officiating and Donna Utter Master of Ceremonies. Services were under the direction of Bradford Funeral Home.
