The Roby Fire Department was called to northwest Texas County at about 10 a.m. Tuesday after a mail carrier left her vehicle for higher ground because of high water.
The carrier reported she was safe, but had abandoned her vehicle on Edler Springs Road north of Evening Shade and moved herself to higher ground.Â
The National Weather Service said this morning that area has received about 2-4 inches of rain, according to radar. With recent rain, the ground is saturated.
